Both Kererū and Kahikatea have electric BBQ facilities available for campers to use. Just push the button and you’re away, however, please ensure you clean them after use and respect others who may wish to use them as well.
Toilet and hot shower facilities are conveniently located at both Kererū and Kahikatea. The larger and more modern of these is at the larger Kererū camping ground. Both blocks have been used by campers with wheelchairs.
Kids love the adventure playground situated at the Kererū camping ground. The playground has been designed with its natural surroundings in mind and feels like an extension of the native bush it sits beside.
A bush chapel with log seating has been set up along one of the nature trails at the Kererū camping ground. This can be booked for events such as weddings by contacting the Reserve Manager on [email protected]
Camp Rangi Woods is situated at Tōtara Reserve next to the Kererū camping ground. It offers accommodation and facilities separate to the camping ground. For more information or to make a booking please email [email protected]
